About Shed
SHED is located in the relaxing city of Healdsburg, in Sonoma County, California just under 2 hours north of San Francisco. This well known wine country destination has kept its country charm, with tree-lined streets and a central square. The city's name dates back to 1857, when Harmon Heald, an Ohio businessman who had been squatting on Rancho Sotoyome since 1850, purchased part of the rancho—giving the city its official founding date and name.
The owners of SHED, Doug Lipton and Cindy Daniel, came to Healdsburg nearly twenty years ago to raise their family and start a farm. Their pursuit of farming was, in their words "life-affirming- an experience we dreamed of sharing. Today SHED celebrates that vision, one that embraces the beauty and dignity of farming, the true taste of real food, and the pleasure that can be had from serving others."
In 2014 SHED was honored with the James Beard Award for Outstanding Restaurant Design. Their flexible floor-plan and open air feel makes this venue perfect for gatherings year round. Complimenting their venue design, the venue rental includes simple yet thoughtful tables, chairs and table runners; all in a warm and comfortable, modern style. In-house services include the unique guidance of SHED's Culinary Director, Perry Hoffman who is part of the creation of each event menu. "His culinary focus at SHED is built around the mission to showcase the links between responsible farming, ingredient-driven cooking, and flavorful food. , He says, “The garden tells me what to cook.”
